The Psychology Behind Irrational Decisions is the title of a TED-Ed lesson that I wanted to rewatch this morning. The lesson focuses on the function of heuristics in our determination making processes. Of course, to know the function of heuristics in making choices college students first want to know heuristics. The lesson does a very good job of defining heuristics for college kids. The video from the lesson is embedded beneath.
Applications for Education
A potential extension for this lesson is to have college students take into consideration and discover examples of how heuristics can affect the statements individuals make in political discussions.
