Sompo International has introduced the appointment of Margaret Hyland as president of North America Reinsurance.

Hyland assumes her new function after serving as govt vp and head of North American skilled legal responsibility reinsurance at Sompo International. She will report back to Christopher Donelan, CEO of Global Reinsurance.

Donelan praised Hyland’s management expertise and intensive relationships within the (re)insurance coverage trade, stating that her repute and experience make her the best candidate to steer the North American reinsurance portfolio.

“Our ability to attract and develop the depth of talent on our team is one of our greatest strengths and we are confident Maggie has the reputation and expertise needed to take our business forward,” he stated.

Sompo International’s new president of North America Reinsurance

Hyland joined Sompo International greater than three years in the past. She has over 30 years of expertise within the North American (re)insurance coverage trade, having held management positions with organizations resembling Allied World, CNA, Axis Capital, and Willis Re.

Based in Garden City, New York, Hyland holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Speech from St. John’s University.

According to a press launch, Hyland’s appointment follows the departure of Steven Hanke, who has accepted a place at a number one brokerage agency after practically ten years with Sompo International Reinsurance.

In his assertion, Donelan additionally commented on Hanke’s departure, thanking him for “helping us build the North America Reinsurance portfolio to where we are today.”

“We are grateful for his contributions to our success and look forward to having the opportunity to work with him again in the future,” he stated additional.
