Cupcakes WITH dinner, not after?! Yep!
When my children have been youthful, I went to a potluck dinner with different neighborhood households.
Someone had introduced mini cupcakes and put them on the desk together with the remainder of the meals. So when the youngsters went down the road with their paper plates, guess what they wished?
Mini cupcakes, after all!
Parents mentioned “not right now” and “after you finish your chicken”.
Except me.
Yes, the lone dietitian within the group let her children put a mini cupcake on their plates, together with rooster and fruit and carrots. My children ate their cupcakes first then ate their different meals and went off to play.
The different youngsters continued to pester their mother and father concerning the cupcakes. They wished to know: “When can I have one?” and “I took three bites of chicken. Can I have one now?” and “How about NOW?”
The mother and father have been, understandably, irritated–at their children for certain, and doubtless at me for being the mother who let her children eat cupcakes with dinner.
