Cisco Optics Podcast Episode 36
Fascinating laser analysis tasks you want you considered, with Juliet Gopinath. Part 2 of 9.
Lasers have been round for over six many years. Since their invention, they’ve discovered their method into many purposes which have modified our lives. Optical communications is after all one in every of them, and there are numerous that will shock you. There can be nonetheless loads of room to take laser efficiency to new heights, resulting in much more new purposes.
In Episode 36, we proceed our dialog with laser and optics skilled Juliet Gopinath, Professor on the University of Colorado Boulder. She explains her use of time resolved spectroscopy to enhance semiconductor laser energy.
– Pat Chou, Cisco Optics Product Manager
Juliet Gopinath is the Alfred T. and Betty E. Look Professor of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering and Physics on the University of Colorado Boulder. She obtained her B.S. diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and her M.S. and Ph.D. levels at MIT. She was a member of technical workers at MIT Lincoln Laboratory from 2005 to 2009. Since then, she has led a analysis group on the University of Colorado Boulder. Her present analysis pursuits embody ultrafast lasers, nonlinear optics, mid-infrared supplies, spectroscopy, orbital angular momentum and adaptive optical units. She has printed 78 peer-reviewed journal articles and over 97 convention displays. She is the recipient of an R&D 100 Award (2012) and is an Optica Fellow. She served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Photonics Society Journal (2011-2017), the Associate Director for Cubit (2019), and at the moment is an Associate Editor for Optica.
