Cisco Optics Podcast Episode 35
Fascinating laser analysis initiatives you would like you considered, with Juliet Gopinath. Part 1 of 9.
Lasers have been round for over six many years. Since their invention, they’ve discovered their means into many purposes which have modified our lives. Optical communications is after all one in every of them, and there are various which will shock you. There can be nonetheless loads of room to take laser efficiency to new heights, resulting in much more new purposes.
In Episode 35, we start a brand new dialog with laser and optics skilled Juliet Gopinath, Professor on the University of Colorado Boulder. We start along with her work at Lincoln Laboratories on bettering laser efficiency.
– Pat Chou, Cisco Optics Product Manager
Juliet Gopinath is the Alfred T. and Betty E. Look Professor of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering and Physics on the University of Colorado Boulder. She acquired her B.S. diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and her M.S. and Ph.D. levels at MIT. She was a member of technical employees at MIT Lincoln Laboratory from 2005 to 2009. Since then, she has led a analysis group on the University of Colorado Boulder. Her present analysis pursuits embody ultrafast lasers, nonlinear optics, mid-infrared supplies, spectroscopy, orbital angular momentum and adaptive optical units. She has revealed 78 peer-reviewed journal articles and over 97 convention displays. She is the recipient of an R&D 100 Award (2012) and is an Optica Fellow.
