For this episode of It’s Time For Science, we’re going to area! Host Tom Racine talks with famend astrophysicist Dr. Erika Hamden and science instructor Dave Curry.

Dave Curry is an skilled center college science instructor and the 2023 recipient of the Paul DeHart Hurd Award, offered by the National Middle Level Science Teachers Association (NMLSTA), an affiliate of NSTA.

Dr. Erika Hamden is a Professor of Astrophysics on the University of Arizona. She develops UV detector know-how, builds telescopes for NASA, and observes galaxies and hydrogen everywhere in the universe. Her final venture was a UV telescope that flew on a high-altitude balloon, and he or she is at present main a crew designing a UV area telescope.

We speak with Dr. Hamden about lecturers that influenced her curiosity in science, the significance of failure in science, a few of her ongoing initiatives, working at incomes her pilot’s license, and extra!
